I'm sure they'll be interesting nonetheless. [ He looks at the menu, already liking the ambience. ] Which is your favourite?

People tend to be good about that here, at least when they're able to. When I arrived communications were down and we were stranded on a hostile world, so I was a bit late getting the explanations.

[Thor tilts the menu his way for a moment, before tapping his finger against something called 'Black Hole Blend'.]

That one. It's very strong.

[ He nods. More and more, he's realising he might be extremely lucky with everything that's happened. Then again, being kidnapped by Zod for his first time is a low bar to clear.

Clark peers over at it. ]

With a name like that. . . I'm game if you are.

I hope so! Some can't handle it, I've noticed.

[There may have been an incident in this same cafe where someone hurled their cup across the room after trying it. That honestly just made Thor like it more.]

They don't make it like this in New York, I can say that much.

Oh, I bet not.

Have you been to a lot of other worlds?

[Thor flags over a waiter to give their drink orders. Once that's done, he turns back to Clark with a nod.]

I have, yes. I have been to all the Nine Realms of course, and many other worlds besides those. I had actually been on a sort of journey for a few years before I came here, trying to find some information out in the universe.

[ Thor says it so casually, he must be used to it.

Clark can't even begin to imagine. That sounds wonderful, Nine Realms and more of the universe? Maybe somewhere out there Krypton might have survived. ]

What were you looking for, if you don't mind my asking?

[He hums in thought, resting his chin in one hand. It isn't a story he's told much since being here, even less so since regaining two years of memories.]

There are some powerful objects that have been appearing on Earth of late; they're known as Infinity Stones. One would be coincidence, but two feels like some larger plan. I know there are more of them out there and I wanted to figure out if anyone knew their whereabouts, or why the other two had appeared on Earth.

I left Earth to find some answers. [He leans back in his chair, with a light shrug.] Didn't find any though.

[ He had held on to a small hope that Asgard could exist in his universe. Having people like Thor or Loki around wouldn't do much to allay Earth's uneasiness with alien visitors, but he could see it being a good thing. ]

And it brings us to where we are. [ He shakes his head. ] Is it too much to hope for that you might find something here?

[Definitely not, in Loki's case. Thor actually pauses at that, frowning in thought.]

I don't know. I hadn't thought about asking around in this place. [This reality or universe, whatever it is.] I've had other things on my mind.

No doubt.

[ At this convenient moment, their coffee arrives. Clark inspects his suspiciously, then glances at Thor. ]

Here goes nothing?

[Thor just grins. He knows what to expect. Taking up his coffee, he tips it slightly towards Clark.]

Prepare yourself.

[True to its name, the coffee is very strong.]

[ Clark's eyes widen at the taste. It won't affect him much, but he can make out all the layers of flavour. ]

Whoa. You weren't kidding.

It's great, isn't it? It's a shame there aren't more like it. But it does not seem to be very popular for some reason.

[That reason might be people not wanting to get bashed over the head by their own coffee, but to each their own.]

Coffee was one of the first drinks I tried on Earth, so I'm fond of it.

[ That reason is this coffee is not for mere mortals. ]

If I can be honest. . . this wouldn't be my first choice, but I see the appeal.

[Not surprising. Thor's yet to meet anyone in this cafe who enjoys it. He does wonder why the baristas still make it, but as long as he gets to buy it he's not that concerned.]

Then I hope your second choice will be more to your tastes.
